There are nine Personality Types on the Couples Personality Index as illustrated in the Couples Personality Wheel above.

Of the nine Personality Types, three anchor their identity in how they relate to others. These are Social Personalities. Three anchor their identity in their internal thoughts and feelings. These are Ideas Personalities. And three anchor their identity in some aspect of their physical experience. These are Physical Personalities.

In each set of three Social, Ideas or Physical Personalities, there is one Explorer, one Changemaker, and one Connector Personality. Explorer Personalities are motivated by what makes them feel good in the moment. Changemaker Personalities are motivated by the possibility of making a difference. Connector Personalities are motivated by the experience of unifying the fragments or healing the chaos of life in some way.

Every human being has a Personality Triad that includes a Core Personality and two Bodyguard Personalities. Whichever Personality is someone’s Core Personality, the two Personality types on either side of that Core Personality on the Couples Personality Wheel become the Bodyguard Personalities. Every Personality Triad includes one Explorer Personality, one Changemaker Personality, and one Connector Personality.

The interaction between the three Personality Types within each Personality Triad is unique for every human being. That one-of-a-kind internal dynamic within each Personality Triad is what accounts for infinite individuality. Even when two people share the same Personality Triad, the unique way that the three Personalities interact within each person is the foundation of their uniqueness as human beings. ©
